EP Senior Inter Provincial Team
Selection of team members is based on the following principles:
· The player must be a fully paid up member, in good standing, of a golf club affiliated to the EPGU in according to the rules of EPGU with a handicap of 9 (nine) or better.
· The player must have reached the age of 50 at the start of the IPT Tournament.
· Play in a minimum of seven rounds consisting of 18 holes of medal golf, in EPGU and EPSAGA sanctioned tournaments out of eleven rounds during the selection cycle.
· It will be mandatory to play in the selected tournaments that qualify as listed below.
· Player's participating in EPGU events will qualify for senior prizes.
· The 2008/9 selection cycle will run from 1st May 2008 to 28th February 2009.
· The first six players in the order of merit automatically qualify for the team, while the seventh and eighth player may be selected as a wildcard.
· A Super Senior team (+60 years) of four players to be selected on the same basis as above (3 + 1 wildcard)
Ranking Calculation:
Scores form all medal rounds are recorded and ranked as follows:-
a) Average gross score for all rounds played and players ranked from 1st (best average score) to 15th position (worst average score).
b) The best 3 scores and the worst 3 scores of all scores are then taken out, averaged and ranked to see the degree of consistency of each player.
c) The worst 3 scores of all scores are taken out, averaged and ranked to eliminate nightmare rounds.
d) The scores for the last 6 months from October to March are averaged and ranked to get the current form players.
e) The scores from the last 3 months or last 3 tournaments is averaged and ranked to get an even more current form.

EP Senior Championships – 36 holes – Walmer CC - February 2009 (TBC)
EPGU Tournaments:
EP Strokeplay – 18 holes only on Sunday PM 2nd November – Humewood GC 2008. (First three rounds are optional and can count)
EP Amateur – 18 holes only on Saturday PM – February 2009 (TBC), (Morning round optional and can count)
