"The EPGU announced a strong side Captained by Doc de Kock from Humewood, to represent EP in the A division of the SA Senior Inter Provincial Championships to be played at Pretoria Country Club form 26th to 29th April. The EP side, having won the B division and got promotion last year to the A division and finishing third overall.
Macdonald Dyafta who won the last two back to back senior tournaments, the EP Open and the Uitenhage tournament managed to crack the wild card spot together with Ian Moncur from Royal Port Alfred for the A side.
The 75 year old Deryk Thornton from Walmer Country Club will be playing in his 40th Inter Provincial Golf Tournament representing EP.This will be his 19th as a Senior. This is a record that will surely stand for many years to come"
